Director of Sales – Material Handling, Automation, Capital Equipment

** Pay information **

** Position is to run and manage a sales team for a rapidly growing OEM manufacturer of automated material handling equipment and other capital equipment

** This is your chance to build and grow a sales team and function for the company and do it your vision. Company is looking for the direction of the sales operations for the current team and building for future growth

** This position is on site north of the Boston area, with travel to customer locations, typically about 50% regionally

· OEM manufacturer of custom design material handling, automation, robotics, and capital equipment

· Solutions provided across multiple industries including food, beverage, pharma, and other areas

· U.S. based manufacturing company

 

The Details

· Manage a small but growing team of sales professionals that are looking for sales guidance to succeed

· Actively perform sales of engineered, custom, and off-the-shelf solutions

· Build, set the sales function in your vision and provide leadership for the company that includes: training, mentoring, sales support, growth, and set the policies for sales success

· Comfortable with helping the customer develop custom engineered solution

· Comfortable with long sales cycles (up to 12 months), sales sizes up to $3-$4 million, machinery is built in the U.S.

· Experience with customer engineered solutions and being able to bring concepts and ideas to the engineering and production teams, acting as liaison to the customer during the process

· Background with managing a team and sales in the material handling, automation, robotics and capital equipment industries

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners

· Travelling throughout the Northeast region and at times nationally; the rest of the time in HQ north of Boston
