Job Description

Spyglass Talent Solutions is a retained recruitment firm based in Raleigh, NC. Our firm has been engaged by a General Contractor to conduct a search for a Superintendent.

Reporting to the Project Management team, the Superintendent will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations on the job site, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include:

· Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

· Supervise day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications, including monitoring progress, resolving issues, and coordinating deliveries of materials and equipment.

· Lead and coordinate the efforts of construction teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of project milestones.

· Inspect workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with building codes, plans, and specifications, addressing any deficiencies or deviations promptly to maintain quality standards.

· Monitor project costs, track expenses, and identify opportunities to optimize resources and reduce expenses without compromising quality or safety.

· Manage project schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks and milestones, anticipating potential delays and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and managing expectations effectively.

· Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders, generating reports and documentation as required by the project contract and regulatory requirements.

· Identify potential risks and safety hazards on the construction site and implement appropriate measures to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety among all workers.

· Resolve conflicts, disputes, and unexpected challenges that arise during construction

· Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.

· Supervise subcontractors, negotiate contracts, and ensure they adhere to project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.

· Coordinate final inspections, ensure completion of punch lists, and facilitate the smooth handover of the project to the client or end-user.

Skills and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in applied engineering or construction management preferred.

· 3-5 years of experience in project management or related roles with a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish.

· Familiarity with contract administration including negotiation, managing change orders, and resolving contractual disputes.

· Strong verbal and written communication and client relations skills

· Ability to lead and motivate a team.

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· Keen attention to detail and organization to manage multiple tasks and ensure compliance with plans and quality standards.

· Solid understanding of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

· Proficiency in budgeting, cost estimation, and cost control techniques to manage project finances effectively.

· Strong sense of flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing project requirements, unforeseen circumstances, and evolving construction challenges.

· Familiarity or experience using ProCore systems.
