Objectives/Scope:

The quality control technician position conducts origination inspection of incoming raw materials used in manufacturing and to ensure finished goods produced are within the company's quality standards.

Duties:

Perform QC tests on incoming raw materials as described in QC SOP
Perform QC tests on production samples as described in QC SOP
Perform additional testing as required for off-specification raw materials and batches
Interact with production personnel on pilot batches and production problems
Keep laboratory work area neat and uncluttered
Organize and maintain QC retain product samples and cured samples
Understand hazards of Polytek products through company provided training and reading MSDSs and labels
Wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves and safety glasses) and following all safety rules
Report safety concerns immediately to your supervisor
Follow all rules set forth in Polytek's Employee Policy Manual

Regularly required to hear, speak, read and write in English
Frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
Requires the ability to occasionally lift supplies, up to 40 pounds
Occasionally ascend/descend short flights of stairs/ladder
Frequently lift 1-gallon pails (8 lb.)

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor Degree preferred
Driver's license
A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control function in manufacturing environment
Computer skills
Ability to work well with others
Self motivated
Negative drug test and not a user of tobacco products
