Job description
The industrial maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production and facility equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. As part of the maintenance team, maintenance technicians report to the maintenance manager and maintenance supervisor making up a total of eight maintenance technicians spread among three shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
- Ensure the good execution of the maintenance activities in all aspects of the facility to assure productivity of wash quality.
- Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Development and implementation maintenance processes to maintain proper equipment and machinery functionality as well as cost efficiency; is responsible for the spare part control inventory to ensure the equipment maintenance process.
- Support production needs.
- Communicate with other departments frequently.
- Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
- Analyze mechanical parts required for maintenance performance, use of equipment, material, and personnel.
- Support all current equipment and new machinery and process introductions.
- Other duties deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED.
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship (like Millwright), or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience; electric, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming experience.
