Job Description

AmerCom Corporation is seeking resumes for Qualified NICET III/IV Bridge/Roadway Construction Inspectors for high-profile, long-term projects in Hudson and Bergen Counties, New Jersey. Bridge Reconstruction / Rehabilitation experience is a must. Amercom has immediate openings on multiple long-term contracts with NJDOT and NJTA in Hudson and Bergen County, NJ. We are looking for “heavy hitter” NICET Level 3 / 4 Construction Inspector(s) with extensive Bridge Construction Inspection experience. These are full-time and long-term positions with excellent benefits including a sign-on bonus and year-end bonus!

Candidates must have NICET III or NICET IV, NJSAT Paving Certification, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I and TCC to apply.

Salary is dependent upon years of experience.

Construction Inspector candidates will inspect contractor operations on bridge construction site to maintain compliance with contract specifications and site plans. Candidates will need to communicate with the prime contractor, property owners, traffic control personnel, utility companies, and government officials from various agencies. Ideal candidates must have leadership experience and excellent communication skills, including the ability to handle conflict with diplomacy and tact.

· NICET III/IIV, NJSAT, TCC/TCP and ACI certifications

· Knowledge of AASHTO (NJDOT Site Manager) and NJTA CapEx software a plus

· Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

· Working knowledge of mathematics with the ability to apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field measurements and adjustments

· Operational knowledge of field inspection equipment

· Ability to maintain detailed journal entries and produce daily reports for pay quantity records

· Ability to plot as-built quantities and mark as-built plans

· Perform as-built calculations

· Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime – sometimes last minute

· Must have a Class D/Regular Driver’s License and Dependable Vehicle
