Summary

The Applications Engineer II provides customer support for on-time technical commercialization of new products. This role will provide applications support in nanocomposite formulations for OLED displays, optical components for AR/VR/MR and other emerging technologies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* This is not an inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned


  • Independently develops and implements project plans for specific customers, track progress to plan, and propose/take corrective measures to keep project plans on schedule
  • Lab time could be 50 to 75%, allowing for non-laboratory activities (e.g., data management, data analysis, specific customer meetings)
  • Ensures resolution of major customer issues, including developing action plans
  • Provides technical support to key customers in support of business development activities to commercialize new products
  • Develops, documents, and communicates technical understanding of customer’s applications and product needs to the product development team
  • Introduces and develops new products
  • Assists product management and marketing communications with product claims, literature, application notes and manuals
  • Represents Pixelligent at trade shows and conferences.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

  1. Masters degree, preferably in an engineering or scientific discipline.
  2. At least two (2) years of demonstrated applications experience in customer facing, specification-driven product role.
  3. Industrial experience in LED, packaging, OLED or display.
  4. Industrial experience with multiple polymeric systems.
  5. Industrial experience with various film coating techniques.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

This position has no certification, licensure or registration requirements.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
