Location: Malden, MA
Pay: $26 - $30hr depending on experience

MUST HAVE:

• Must speak, read, and write in English
• Must have CMM experience
• Must have worked in a CNC manufacturing facility

Job Description of the Quality Inspector

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspection and documentation of materials, products, and processes. The Quality Assurance Inspector is non-supervisory or management. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

AUTHORITY the Quality Assurance Inspector has the authority to:

• Withhold approval of non-conforming materials, products, or processes.
• Release approved material to manufacturing.
• Release materials and products prior to inspection when deemed in the best interest of the company. This can only be done if the materials or products can be verified as acceptable in-process and requires records to indicate “released without inspection”.
• Release approved product for shipment.
• Provide “Certificates of Compliance” for approved products.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS of the Quality Inspector

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2 Year degree or 2 years previous inspection experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to understand and use basic inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, coordinates measuring machines (CMM), and peel tester.
• Ability to understand product drawings and specifications.
• Computer skills, including MS Office Excel and Access.

DUTIES of the Quality Inspector

• Follow all documented procedures and instructions.
• Perform inspections on materials, products, and processes per procedures and instructions.
• Clearly and accurately document the results of inspections on materials, products, and processes per procedures and instructions. This can include filling in forms, computer data entry, and accurate filing of documents in a computer database as well as in filing cabinets.
• Notify the Quality Assurance Manager or their representative of any failure to meet specifications of materials, products, or processes. This notification is to be documented on the Non-conforming Material Report (NMR).
• Notify the Quality Assurance Manager or their representative of any missing or conflicting specification in the Device History Record (Order Packet) (DHR). This notification is to be documented on the Change Notice Form (CN).
• Accurate and timely inventory and documentation of the items in the Q.A. Hold area once each month.
• Computer data entry for the following Quality Assurance Logs:
• Receiving/Receiving Inspection-Receiving Log
• Non-conforming Material Report Log- NMR Log
• Non-conforming Material Reports-NMRs
• Maintain these additional Quality Assurance Logs:
• 1st Article Inspection Log
• Final Inspection Log
• Provide “Approval” for acceptable materials, products, and processes.
• File and maintain records of inspections, audits, and retains.
• Other duties as assigned
