We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Lead Inspector.

The Lead Inspector role provides oversight of shop activities to ensure conformance and compliance of maintenance practices.

 

The opportunity

 

Your primary tasks will include:

 

Operational

  • Determine that, if the customer’s work scope is limited in nature, the requested maintenance or preventive maintenance can be accomplished within the applicable data despite any other damage or discrepancies noted.
  • Ensure work performed for air carrier or air operator is accomplished in accordance with their work scope and procedures.
  • Ensure all incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, in process, and final inspections are performed in accordance with the procedures set forth in this manual.
  • Submit reports of serious defects or recurring unairworthy conditions in accordance with the procedures described in the RSQM (Repair Station Quality Manual).
  • Strategy & Development
  • Plan, organize, direct and control activities to record/document maintenance performed by this repair station.
  • Perform the repair station’s “self-evaluation” to determine whether it has the housing, facilities, equipment, material, data, and trained personnel to add an article to its Capability List.


People Management

  • Maintain the required repair station personnel rosters by ensuring that changes in personnel or job duties are reflected on the roster within five (5) business days as required by this manual. Maintain associated history of added or removed personnel authorizations.
  • Assist all personnel performing work under the repair station certificate as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Determine the abilities of non-certificated employees performing maintenance functions based on training, knowledge, experience, or practical tests.
  • Ensure that all performing maintenance functions are appropriately trained on the individual task prior to performing the work.
  • Responsible for the technical training of technical staff.


Qualifications & Competencies

  • Appropriately certificated under 14 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Part 65.
  • Understands, reads, and writes English.
  • Thoroughly familiar with the applicable CFRs and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations are being performed.
  • Proficient in using various types of mechanical and visual inspection aids appropriate for the articles being inspected and approved for return to service.
  • Proficient in using various types of CMMs (Component Maintenance Manual) appropriate component on which maintenance is being performed.
  • Has appropriate experience through training, employment history or practical tests and that this information has been documented and is available in the individual’s employment file.
  • Minimum of eighteen (18) months of practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the work for which the repair station is rated.
  • Understands the current specifications, involving inspection tolerances, limitations and procedures established by the manufacturer or by an A.D.’s (Airworthiness Directive), of the articles being inspected and approved for return to service.
  • Understands CFRs and A.D.’s.
  • Understands policies and procedures for accomplishing work for air carriers and air operators.
