Job Description

We currently have an opening for a Mortgage and Consumer Loan Operations Manager in our Hartford, WI office. This position is ON-SITE in Hartford, WI.

As the Mortgage and Consumer Loan Operations Manager you will be responsible for all procedures and processes performed by the mortgage and consumer lending business unit of the bank. The Mortgage and Consumer Loan Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the bank's retail lending goals through the administration of strong lending programs, efficient and accurate loan documentation, and customer-focused loan servicing policy and procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Management of all procedures and processes within the retail mortgage and consumer credit department including, but not limited to, loan documentation, front-end and back-end system processing, pre- and post-closing review, and loan servicing functions, such as insurance tracking, exception report tracking, escrow, payment processing, and customer support. Serve as backup to all functions when needed.
  2. Manage and ensure the integrity of all systems utilized within the bank's retail and mortgage credit department which include loan documentation, loan accounting, loan servicing, and loan participations. Become the owner and subject matter expert for applicable systems, which include Finastra's Mortgagebot LOS, Mortgagebot Originate, LaserPro, and Fiserv Premier Navigator.
  3. Manage and oversee the bank's portfolio of retail mortgage loans sold and serviced in the secondary mortgage market (current relationships include Fannie Mae and Banker's Bank of Wisconsin). Serve as bank resource regarding Fannie Mae selling and servicing requirements.
  4. Work with lenders, Chief Risk and Operations Officer, and Chief Credit Officer to develop risk-based pricing and rate models that allow the bank to be competitive but profitable.
  5. Interact with compliance and legal counsel on complex matters to direct the bank and staff efforts in the proper documentation of retail loans.
  6. Ensure loans are documented consistent with approvals.
  7. Develop and maintain an efficient electronic retail and consumer loan file system, built on accuracy and completeness.
  8. Manage the documentation exception report, working closely with Loan Servicing staff and the Chief Credit Officer to minimize exceptions.
  9. Develop and maintain adequate systems and reporting to identify delinquent loans, management attention loans, and classified/troubled asset reporting and monitoring.
  10. Compile and report mortgage and retail loan financial data in accordance with bank policy.
  11. Compile and present loan production reports.
  12. Analyze and comply with government laws and regulations. Keep up to date with all regulatory issues.
  13. Adhere to and manage distribution of retail credit policies and procedures. Interpret policy matters as questions and specific issues require.
  14. Maintain the retail and consumer lending portions of the bank's business continuity plan.
  15. Provide training, advice and guidance to the bank's mortgage and retail lending and production staff. Conduct timely meetings to provide periodic dissemination of information and discussion of credit policy and administration issues.
  16. Responsible for direct supervision of all consumer and mortgage Loan Processing, and Loan Servicing staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. A college degree with concentration of study in Finance, Business or Accounting.
  2. Minimum 5 years of banking experience in Retail and Mortgage Credit Administration, loan processing, and loan management systems.
  3. Minimum of two to three years management or supervisory experience.
  4. Experience with Fannie Mae preferred.
  5. Experience with Finastra loan origination systems preferred.
  6. Experience with Fiserv Premier a plus.

  6. Must possess strong computer skills with a strong working knowledge of programs such as Word, Excel and Power Point. Prior experience in the setup and management of loan processing software, loan servicing, and core loan management systems is a pre-requisite.
  7. Must be able to work in a team environment and maintain a professional image at all times.
