Investment Accountant

Job Description

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Investment Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $78,000 to $90,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and supporting workpapers.
• Processes fund transactions, including payments to vendors and issuing checks and reviews and reconciles external property financials to Yardi.
• Assists with ensuring property acquisitions, dispositions, and refinance transactions are accurately recorded by the external property management accountants.
• Reviews and processes property level capital calls and monitors property self-escrowed cash balances.
• Assists with fund distribution and capital call calculations, associated payments are made/received timely, and Yardi is updated and maintained accordingly.
• Assists with the completion of interim and year-end external audit testing requests.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.
• Preferred at least three 3 years of financial accounting experience in real estate investment, real estate development, private equity, or investment advisory or two 2 years of public accounting experience.
• Big4/CPA preferred
• Great computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel intermediate level) and accounting software (Yardi experience a plus).

Experience:

• Good knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Skilled in working across heavily matrixed organizations which requires significant influencing and collaboration skills.
• Well-organized and detailed oriented.
