Supplier Quality Engineer
Investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects internally and externally. Preparing any sorting activity and communication with suppliers. Ability to develop and strengthen Supplier relationships. Review of PPAP documentation and approval. Other daily tasks as assigned.

- Provide technical liaison services between manufacturing and quality on all matters relating to quality systems, procedures, direction, processes, including Quality Assurance implementation and Maintenance.
- Identify, track and resolve supplier quality problems.
- Report to management monthly supplier KPIs.
- Be a technical liaison with a cross-functional manufacturing team.
- Organize and direct interaction of all supplier complaints to provide ongoing communication with timely involvement, review and action to address these issues.
- Review prints and specifications. Track engineering changes.
- Review and evaluate the adequacy of PPAP documents on supplied components, i.e. Control Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, acceptance sampling, etc.
- Provide Manufacturing and/or Engineering with Metrology information.
- Provide assistance as needed in performing capability studies and process potential studies.
- Participate in all customer quality audits in regards to supplier documentation for IATF requirements.
- Lead prototype efforts in area to assure supplier requirements are met.
- Perform customer surveys and assist with supplier audits and evaluations.
- Assist Quality Manager to develop and implement the Quality system
- Assist in maintaining supplier quality hold area, disposition nonconforming material, RMA and issue DMN
- Understand and implement Supplier Manual requirements.
- 15% travel, advance notice may not be given
- Ability to fund traveling for reimbursement
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or science, or similar equivalent degree and/or equivalent experience. Three to Five years of experience in the quality field, Tier One (BIW-Body in white) preferred. General Motors and or OEM customer experience a must. Certified IATF internal auditor, Lead Auditor, Tool and Die Journeyman or equivalent experience is a definite asset. Metal stamping experience and Automotive Quality Engineering systems knowledge are required.

The employee may need to be available during off hours if needed, and have the flexibility to work various shift hours and/or extended hours if needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near machinery and moving parts. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electromagnetic fields, risk of electric shock and vibration. The employee will be required to travel and stay overnight on occasion. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet but will be moderate when in the production environment.
