Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The Media Communications Intern will be working with and assisting our director to create and organize content for APICDAs various media and communications needs. Responsible for creating a video to showcase the diversity and entrepreneurial spirit within the region, while also providing valuable marketing content for the Aleutian Marketplace.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
AMMG Project
The goal of this project is to create engaging video profiles of the Aleutian Marketplace Micro Grant (AMMG) recipients of Unalaska. These video profiles will highlight the recipients businesses, their stories, and the impact of the micro grants on their ventures.
This job operates in a professional office environment or offsite (remote). This role routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, phones, and video equipment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb stairs; use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

- Conduct interviews with selected Aleutian Marketplace Micro Grant recipients.
- Film and edit 13-minute video profiles for three grant recipients; include interviews, footage of the business, relevant visuals to enhance storytelling.
- Research each grant recipient and their business; context for the interviews.
- Collaborate with the Aleutian Marketplace coordinator to ensure alignment with project goals; review video drafts; regular check-ins to discuss progress and address challenges.
- Final report summarizing the project experience, including lessons learned and recommendations for future similar projects; include internship action photos.
- AMMG Project (as outlined above)
- Photo and Video editing and cataloging.
- Create newsletter and website content.
- Edit content of publications.
- Assist with special events and attend occasional meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
