Medical Billing Specialist

Location: Chaska, MN (This is a fully on-site position)

Pay: Up to $29 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify accuracy of billing and coding
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
• Research and appeal denied claims
• Post payments to accounts receivable
• Maintain billing software by updating patient demographics and insurance information
• Generate and analyze financial reports related to billing activities
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers regarding billing and claims issues
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience working as a Medical Billing Specialist
• Proficiency with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, Skilled Nursing Billing experience
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
