Human Resources Manager- Landscape Construction HYBRID

My client is a recognized landscaping construction company in the metropolitan Washington/Baltimore area with unparalleled service and results that set them apart from the competition. They are looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on Human Resources Manager to join their organization.
**This position is based in Olney/Ashton, MD (20861), and will be onsite but could be hybrid with a few days working remotely for the right candidate (after the initial training period)
The Human Resources Manager leads and directs routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) Department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, training and development, performance management, compliance, and employee relations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the human resources department and its functionalities to include recruiting, onboarding, benefits, training, performance management, compliance, and employee relations
- Coordinate recruiting efforts, interview candidates, create offer letters, and facilitate the onboarding process.
- Oversee company benefits and annual open enrollment process
- Oversee company training and professional development
- Facilitate the performance management process
- Create, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Update and maintain the Employee Handbook
- Point of contact for all employee relations
- Maintain visibility in the field at the project sites; be accessible to employees
- Remain current in human resources industry trends
- Exhibit confidentiality with executive, employee, and company information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management, company departments, project teams, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and carriers
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Self-start, strong work ethic, and a team player
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
A successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

· In your 3+ years in HR you have built strong employee relations skills and can interact effectively with all staff levels.
· You know federal, state and local employment and ACA laws and requirements.
· You are polished, professional, and have an optimistic and self-starting personality and approach.
· You understand HR in a small business, including the need to work on and manage multiple projects and priorities In a fast-paced environment.
· You have worked ideally in a construction, landscaping or manufacturing company.
· You ideally are bilingual in Spanish
· You ideally have your HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP)
