Solid Ground Engineering, LLC (SGE) provides expert civil engineering services for land development projects. Our team of experts offers site feasibility, project layouts, site plans, utility design, stormwater design, hydrogeologic evaluation, permitting and schedule consultation along with many other civil engineering services for residential, industrial, and commercial projects in the greater Puget Sound area. Professional experience includes working within jurisdictions in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties on single-family, multi-family, industrial and commercial projects. The experts at SGE have confidence to deliver on projects from single-family home sites to complex multi-phased residential subdivisions across hundreds of acres urban or a mixed-use, mid-rise apartment building with hundreds of units.

Responsibilities:
- Perform calculations and design of stormwater conveyance systems
- Prepare Stormwater Reports in compliance with jurisdictional requirements
- Design sewer and water systems in accordance with local jurisdictional requirements
- Design stormwater detention systems using WWHM modeling software
- Prepare roadway profile designs, grading plans and TESC plans for project sites
- Coordinate workload with CAD Technicians and Project Managers
- Communicate with project subconsultants, project vendors, jurisdictional authorities and clients
- Prepare specifications and detailed documentation of project design
- Manage RFIs during construction phase and coordinate effectively and timely with contractors
- Prepare permit applications and narratives for various land development permit submittals
Qualifications:
- Engineer-In-Training certification or ability/desire to obtain such certification
- Experience/familiarity performing design in AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn local stormwater requirements, including working knowledge of Department of Ecology Stormwater Manual for Western Washington, Snohomish County Drainage Manual, Pierce County Stormwater Management and Site Development Manual and King County Surface Water Design Manual, among others
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Bluebeam preferred
- Desire to mentor and teach junior engineers
- Desire to be mentored by other professional engineers
- Ability to communicate thoughts and concepts with team members
- High motivation to learn
