Civil Science is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Development Designer to support our growing land development practice in Utah. This role is ideal for a design professional who enjoys contributing to meaningful site development projects while growing technically and professionally within a collaborative team.
In this role, you will support the planning and design of residential, commercial, and municipal land development projects. You'll work alongside project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs-from initial concepts through final construction documents.

What You'll Get to Do:
- Support the design and development of land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, and utilities
- Prepare construction documents, plans, and exhibits using Civil 3D
- Assist with site grading, stormwater design, and utility layout
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support project delivery
- Perform design calculations and quantity estimates
- Support permitting efforts and coordination with local agencies
- Participate in field visits and assist with construction support as needed
- Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
What Qualifications You'll Need:
- 2+ years of experience in land development or civil site design
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D required
- Understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
What Will Help You Stand Out:
- Bachelor's Degree, EIT certification or ability to obtain
- Experience with local Utah municipalities or development standards
- Familiarity with hydrology and stormwater design tools
- Exposure to permitting processes and agency coordination
- Previous internship or experience in land development design
