Housekeeping/Prep Cook ($15/hr)

The Prep Cook/Environmental Services Worker prepares and provide meals in a timely manner, in accordance with provided recipes as well as provides a clean and orderly environment for clients and staff members.
(3 days Housekeeping & 2 days Prep Cook)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• 6 months to 1 year of cleaning experience
• 1 year of cooking experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 1 Year or more year(s) of institutional cleaning experience 
• 2  Years of institutional cooking experience 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a business kitchen
• Ability to follow schedules for meal preparation and serving
• Team player with good communication skills
• Capability of reading the menu and following written directions and basic recipes

WORKING CONDITIONS

• MUST be on time for all scheduled shifts
• Some weekend work is required
• Ability to climb, balance, bend/stoop, and kneel repeatedly 
• Capacity to stand and/or walk continuously
• Capable of carrying up to 50lbs occasionally

RESPONSIBILITIES
60% - Work hours 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

• Clean (including dusting) restrooms, common areas, offices, client rooms, and break areas
• Stock soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, toilet paper, and coffee areas
• Perform refrigerator temperature checks
• Follow office cleaning schedule
• Complete quality improvement as well as supply requisition forms for break area supplies

40% - Work hours 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

• Prepare, season, cook, and serve meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, soups, desserts, etc. as described on the house menu and production sheets; make adjustments for therapeutic diets, as supplied by the Supervisor, Food Services and the consulting dietician, according to established schedule
• Follow standard recipe menus and apportioned services
• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the ACFP (adult care food program)
• Prepare, transport, set-up, and deliver meals to various residences (on-site)
• Performs all other duties as assigned
