Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Dispatcher to join our logistics department. As a Dispatcher at A&K Railroad Materials Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient coordination and execution of transportation operations. You will be responsible for managing schedules, communicating with drivers and clients, and resolving logistical issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Schedule drivers to pick up and deliver freight to designated locations.
• Communicate effectively with drivers/vendors, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during transit.
• Monitor routes and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and optimize efficiency.
• Coordinate with internal teams to prioritize deliveries and allocate resources effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of transportation activities.
• Respond promptly to customer/vendor inquiries and provide updates on shipment status.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in logistics dispatching or a related field.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in transportation management software and GPS tracking systems.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation industry practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of load boards.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or transportation is a plus.
