Assistant Surveyor

Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Survey Technician Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of surveying and contribute to the development of innovative mapping deliverables. 

Responsibilities:

- Assist the land surveyor in determining boundary lines, property corners, and other markers using surveying equipment and tools.

- Create maps, plans, and reports of the surveyed area.

- Collect and analyze data to identify potential areas of concern and to ensure the accuracy of survey results.

- Communicate with team members to ensure project objectives are met and to resolve any issues that arise during the survey process.

- Maintain survey equipment and ensure that it is calibrated properly.

- Follow all safety protocols and stay aware of potential hazards on job sites.

- Maintain project files and documentation in an organized manner

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the team

Requirements:

- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a GIS, Surveying Engineering Technology or related program

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software is a plus

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.

- Must be able to work in the field or office daily, as this is not a hybrid position
