Description
CPH is a multi-disciplined Engineering and Architectural design firm that ranks in the nation's Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine.
CPH has an opening for the following position: Surveyor In Training.
As a surveyor-in-training, your primary role is to support the licensed surveyor in various tasks related to land surveying projects. You will work in the field and the office, gaining practical experience and knowledge in surveying techniques and procedures. Your ultimate goal is to acquire the necessary experience and skills to become a licensed surveyor.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As a Surveyor in Training (SIT) you will have the opportunity to:
  • Assist in performing land surveys and field measurements using surveying equipment.
  • Help in conducting boundary surveys to determine the legal property lines and corners of land parcels.
  • Support the team in conducting topographic surveys to gather data about the natural and man-made features of a particular area.
  • Assist in setting out points and marking positions on the ground to guide construction projects. Assist in processing and analyzing the collected survey data using computer software and tools. This includes organizing and managing data, creating survey maps, and generating reports.
  • Conduct research on property records, historical maps, and other relevant documents to gather information about land boundaries, ownership, and previous survey data.

Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have a B.S. Degree in Geomatics with 0-3+ years' experience in but not limited to the following: ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Plats, Topographic Surveys, Asbuilt Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Retracement GLO Surveys and Laser Scanning.
  • CAD or Auto CADD experience is highly desirable.
  • Willing to work as a team and have strong organization and communication skills.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
