Job Description

Position Summary

Leads day-to-day activities pertaining to the Inventory Department. Schedules daily Cycle Counts and stock checks. Submits inventory adjustments and location updates. Executes all inventory reports. Effectively delegate’s workload to department personnel. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition to the Responsibilities of “Inventory Clerk”:

  • Create and print inventory tags for the days count.
  • Incrementally distribute inventory count tags to Inventory Counters
  • Create and maintain inventory spreadsheets to effectively schedule inventory counts.
  • Run variance reports, and submit to the Accounting department.
  • Research Identified count discrepancies given by the Inventory Counters
  • Make Stock adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct Stock checks for shipping and sales.
  • Manage a group of 2-3 personnel.
  • Maintain a filed history of counts.
  • Maintain open communication with Receiving Supervisor and upper management regarding any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain spreadsheet inventory plan for fiscal year inventory counts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Information and Activities Critical to Process Quality

·Inventory Tag Creation:

  • Create tags for material to be counted
  • Release made tags to inventory counters to be counted and returned.
  • Maintain a spreadsheet that shows what items have been counted and what needs to be counted.
  • Run variance report once counts are completed and issue to accounting for inventory correction.
  • Identify count discrepancies and research root cause of the discrepancies.
  • Report issues that cannot be readily resolved to the Receiving Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Make stock adjustments as needed for material that is no longer available.
  • Assist with stock checks requested by sales or the shipping dept.
  • Manage the inventory counter personnel within the warehouse and coordinate pipe counts with the receiving personnel in the pipe yard.
  • Hold all previously ran variance reports for later reference.
  • Have a copy of the inventory plan for the fiscal year as a reference to which items have and have not been counted.
  • Manage the flow of daily tickets dispersed to inventory crew.
  • Research items found to be discrepant to establish where an error may have occurred.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Duties are not limited to those described above, and may be expanded as needed.

  • Maintain safety and utilize PPE as required.
  • Ongoing responsibility of creating and implementing a safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Speak and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • 3+ years PVF industry experience
  • Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
  • Ability to drive forklift and secure certification
  • Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs with back support
  • Able to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assigned
  • Takes initiative and able to work independently
  • Requires a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
