Job Description

Our Investment Specialist role will assist a client-facing Wealth Management Advisor in onboarding clients, managing portfolios, and day-to-day trades. This is not an entry-level position. Remote work is available for qualified candidates with 3+ years of experience in the industry; no relocation costs to our state of residence (Hawaii) will be provided. This role will primarily be working in investment operations with some client contact to be expected in regards to trading, assisting clients with distributions and transfers, and basic servicing of accounts. This is not currently a management role, but growth within the team is possible and welcomed as we continue to grow our practice.

 

Salary ranges for this position are based on industry experience, licensing, and experience in the duties listed.

$45,000/yr + *Less than 3 years industry experience (Northwestern Mutual Preferred)*

$55,000/yr + *3-4 years of industry experience; On track/actively obtaining licensing*

$65,000/yr + *5+ years of industry experience; Series 6 or Series 7 licensing complete*

Specific job responsibilities include:

Operations Support

§ Professionally handle incoming phone calls from clients requesting policy / account information

§ Communicate with home office as needed to supply or attain account information.

§ Obtaining and Inputting client information into CRM and creating “Households”

§ On-boarding clients for investment planning

§ Interaction with joint work teams to address needs of mutual clients

§ Auditing client households for maintenance, outreach, and contribution limits.

§ Proactively participating in trainings & learning internal systems through our established resources.

 

Investment Sales Support

§ Case prep for investment-focused meetings and collaborate on financial planning

§ Reviewing client statements and creating analysis/comparison reports (YCharts/MorningStar)

§ Opening investment accounts and managing the transfer and rollover process

§ Processing trade orders

§ Running performance reports in Envestnet, Morningstar, YCharts, and NMCIR

§ Assist in the investment design and upkeep of Signature Choice accounts

§ Account servicing – manual rebalancing, setting up / adjusting ACH and billing accounts

§ Identify opportunities to help clients via tax-loss harvesting

§ Processing and monitoring funding of advisory account and asset transfers to ensure selected asset allocation is implemented

 

Marketing Support

§ Assisting team with designing and testing new marketing ideas

§ Utilizing internal platforms to regularly create/post social media touch points

§ Running CRM Reports for birthday calls, CRM Engage marketing, and potential Centers of Influence.

 

 

Qualifications

Technical Requirements

  • Financial Service or Insurance industry experience required (Northwestern Mutual experience preferred)
  • Northwestern Mutual Associate Financial Representative contract required upon hire
  • Life & Health Insurance License required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Investment licensing required within 12 months (Series 7; Series 63 or 66)
