Part Time After School Program (ASP) Facilitator - Job Description

Jubilee's current work centers in the Tierra Vida community in Pasco Washington.

Under the management of the Community Relations Manager and in collaboration with the Rec Center Coordinator, Rec Center Assistant, and Youth Program Coordinator, the ASP Facilitator is responsible for creating and helping implement a variety of programs in the areas of the Arts, Health and Life Skills, Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. Facilitators visibly enjoy working with children and create an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills. The facilitator fosters positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members. This is a part-time, hourly position at $17.00/hour comprised of work hours from 2:00 - 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. School breaks may require a schedule change.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Create a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for children in the Tierra Vida After School Program; recognize & appropriately respond to all hazards & emergencies
• Assist with the preparation of materials and equipment for after school instructional activities
• Plan and lead group activities such as tutoring, arts and crafts, and science projects where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
• Work with Rec Center coordinator and Youth Program facilitator to create a schedule of activities
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters
• Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
• Participate in cross-training activities as required
• Report to supervisor with students or parents' concerns
• Create and establish positive relationships with students
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A passion or calling to work with children and adults
• Work cooperatively with others as a team
• Participate in daily set up and clean up
• Be energetic, creative, reliable, and mature
• Previous experience working with youth in a professional setting.
• Must be a great role model and example for all participants, staff members and guests.
• Must be knowledgeable with creating and presenting projects with reading, math, science, arts, and craft projects.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a full background check.
