Job Description

The Quality and Engineering Manager is responsible for converting the product engineering specs into a manufacturing lines and processes, using lean manufacturing tools and quality systems to ensure expected quality for customers and optimal cost for Kinetico.

Compensation: Exempt position based on experience; incentive bonus eligible.

Travel: None

Location: Suwanee, GA

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in the design and implementation of policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment.
  2. Utilizes product design, specs, and functionality to convert into optimal processes to authenticate quality in an efficient manufacturing design.
  3. Leads the development of tools, machines, and processes to ensure quality and increase productivity and efficiency in all manufacturing areas.
  4. Provides leadership, training, mentoring, coaching and performance management for direct team. Focuses on employee engagement and produces a high performance, quality driven, and engaged workforce.
  5. Manages BOM and routers for accuracy regarding manufacturing and cost purposes and addressing the required actions with PDM, product development and finance teams.
  6. Develops, manages, and maintains the implementation of an integrated Quality Management System including policies, procedures, processes, programs, and practices, to enhance continuous conformance with national and international standards, regulations and Kinetico corporate governance.
  7. Identifies quality system training requirements, prepares, and delivers training programs and maintains appropriate training documentation.
  8. Conducts incoming inspections, supplier audits, and tracks action plans to manage products, processes, and raw materials.
  9. Addresses quality complaints using formal methodologies to implement a containment plan, root cause analysis, correctives, and preventive actions.
  10. Collaborates with customers’ auditors ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8-10 years related work experience.
  • At least (5) years of experience as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems such as ISO, TS, or others.
  • Demonstrated success leading both large and small quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints regarding products or machinery.
  • Ability to use calibrated gauges, tools, and fixtures and design special functional gauges.

Physical Effort and Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing and reaching
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and maneuvering up to 100 pounds with a dolly
  • Frequently exposed to oil and noise
  • Exposure to heat or cold due to seasonal changes
