Mechanical Design Engineer - Structural

As a Mechanical Structural Design Engineer, your main role involves analyzing a broad range of structural designs across different vehicles. This includes tasks such as laying out vehicle structures, integrating payloads, analyzing structural modifications, and assessing mechanisms from the initial concept phase through to production. The ideal candidate should possess excellent problem-solving abilities and be adept at working independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting. Effective communication and the ability to function within an interdisciplinary team, including Aero, Electrical, and Software professionals, are essential. This position reports to the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
· Experience in small to medium-sized teams within an advanced development environment
· Proficiency in sizing metallic and composite parts for general aviation, automotive, or mechanical systems
· Familiarity with mechanical and bonded assembly analysis methods
· Ability to adhere to standard processes, create concise stress reports and presentations
· Capable of characterizing, analyzing, and testing structural load paths and engineering assumptions
· Understanding of mechanical assembly fits, bonded assembly requirements, and rapid prototyping environment workarounds
· Proficiency with structural analysis software (preferably Hyper Works)
· Effective communication and collaboration with management, engineering colleagues, technicians, and shop leads
· Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
