Cottonwood Services Technician

The Cottonwood Services Technician is responsible for the accurate completion and maintenance on equipment at the store level. This individual should possess strong attention to detail, dedication to safety, and a drive to provide quality in their work. The successful candidate will have the ability to properly, accurately, and in a timely manner make needed and assigned repairs to equipment. Additionally, the successful candidate should have the ability foresee and react to upcoming situations and problems with the equipment. While specific and technical training will come on the job and from some manufacturers, the successful candidate should have a good and existing ability to fix machinery and be familiar with shop tools. A good driving record is required as the job will require traveling to sites for repairs. Driving performance will be monitored by an onboard system and a high weekly score is expected and will be rewarded. The Services Technician will be responsible to follow the Cottonwood attendance policy. The job duties listed below are the responsibility of the Services Technician and are not listed in specific priority order. The duties may change (add to and/or take away) based on changes to the business and/or processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will be held accountable to maintain 80% + billable hours
• Work where assigned by Supervisor
• Responsible to make accurate diagnosis, repair, replacement etc. for assigned jobs
• Responsible for accurate accounting and reporting of daily calls for correct billing
• Accurately record parts that are used (both for the inventory as well as billing)
• Take the lead on maintaining work vehicle as assigned
• Provide support and input to sales team in implementing potential new accounts and outside customers
• Stay updated on current/new equipment used at customer locations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service repair shop at Cottonwood Distribution
• Participate in periodic in-market 1/1's as well as technician meetings led by Supervisor
• Be a safety champion for the Cottonwood Services team

• Experience with inventory management software
• Excellent math skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Able to manage multiple tasks and see them through to completion
• Solid computer skills a plus - Outlook, Word and Excel
• Ability to perform administrative work including data entry and paperwork processing
  • Ability to analyze data, review the operations information, and make suggested changes to improve operational performances
  • Ability to learn and use inventory management software. Ability to become software expert to facilitate training technicians and others as needed
• Ability to lift 50lbs boxes or items regularly
• Must be motivated and self-started
  • 4 years of previous mechanical repair experience or completion of mechanical trade schooling and certification
  • Ability to complete equipment manufacturer training certification. Previous certification a plus but will also be provided on the job
