Machine Operator/Material Handler

Beginning in the early 1970s developing innovative insulation products in a detached garage in Prospect Connecticut. Since then we’ve expanded, and now operate two manufacturing facilities in our home town. Our plants are equipped with state of the art production equipment and are completely outfitted for our entire production needs – from inbound raw material to outbound packaged finished product.

Redundant capability is fundamental to ensuring reliable product availability for our customers, and is integral to helping them manage supply chain risk.

Four total openings:

Machine Operator (Material Handler): Laminating - Tuesday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm

Machine Operator (Material Handler): Laminating - Monday-Thursday 9:00pm-7:30am

Machine Operator (True Machine Operator): Mold/Expanding - Monday-Thursday 2:00pm-12:30am

Machine Operator (Material Handler): Panel - Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Summary:

Operate machinery designed to perform a specific portion of the production process around EPS (Expanded Polystyrene)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates machinery of assigned department (laminatio, cutting fabrication, shapes, recycling, molding, expanding, etc.) to complete work order.
• Receives and reviews work orders.
• Communicates the required amount of material needed to perform tasks to other departments.
• Continuous observation of machine operation to ensure optimal performance of standard work within assigned department.
• Performs hazard-based functions on machinery, including lock out/tag out and daily equipment inspection.
• Stacks, sorts, and bundles material according to assigned department`s standard work.
• Occasional housekeeping tasks, 5S, and Sqdc involvement.
• Other duties assigned

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

• Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic.
• Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail
• Ability to follow CWT`s policies, procedure, and processes.
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability use a calculator.
• Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers, radio, calculators, measuring devices, hand tools)
