Mid-level Cloudera Data Engineer

Location: Fully Remote but must be located in CONUS (Continental United States)

Job Description: The Cloudera Data Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining efficient data pipelines. The successful candidate will integrate data from various sources, deploying solutions on cloud services and optimizing our data infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability. This role requires a blend of technical skills, creativity, and a strong commitment to delivering enterprise-level solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and organizing raw data.
• Building robust data systems and pipelines.
• Evaluating business needs and objectives to ensure accurate data solutions.
• Conducting complex data analysis and interpretation to influence decision-making.
• Preparing data for predictive and prescriptive modeling.
• Implementing data privacy policies and compliance standards in data handling and integration.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience utilizing Hadoop technologies, including Spark for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
• Proficiency in Cloudera installation, configuration, debugging, tuning, and administration.
• Advanced SQL skills through Hive, Spark, or Impala within the Cloudera ecosystem.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or Pig for data processing and scripting.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Experience managing and monitoring data platforms using Cloudera tools like Cloudera Manager or Hue.
• Experience with infrastructure implementation on both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Knowledge in optimizing query performance and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with public clouds like AWS and Microsoft Azure.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 base salary based on knowledge and years of experience.
