Staff Accountant (Construction - 5+ Years Experience)
Position Description
Benjamin Marcus Homes is looking to grow its team! Family owned and operated, BMH builds quality, custom homes in both the North and South Hills of Pittsburgh. As our portfolio has expanded, we have the need for a Staff Accountant to assist in managing the daily operations of the Finance Department. This position would be responsible for:
· Daily data entry and reporting;
· Accounts Payables and Receivables;
· Inbox management /email correspondence on behalf of the Finance Department;
· Monthly bank reconciliations and loan management;
· 1099/ year end tax closeout;
· Customer/ vendor interface in regards to payments and invoicing;
· Subcontractor Worker’s Compensation & General Liability insurance tracking
· Assist with Payroll and Benefits administration
· Other duties as assigned.
This newest team member would report to the Director of Operations on the daily administration of the Finance Department. Experience with construction project cost tracking, especially with a midsize homebuilder or production builder is a plus. A strong candidate would have experience managing multiple portfolios in a fast paced work environment, while maintaining quality data and providing frequent reporting to the Finance Manager and Senior Leadership. Experience with Quickbooks or equivalent financial management software is required, with demonstrated proficiency in other Financial Software Tools a plus. Other duties may and will be assigned as required.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance, Accounting, or relevant subject area
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel
• Strong proficiency in Quickbooks, or equivalent financial management software, Sage Contracting or Equivalent Builder Financial Software is a plus
• 5+ years experience managing accounts payable, receivable, and payroll, purchase orders and variance purchase orders
• Experience developing annual budgets, analytics and forecasting at macro and micro levels
• Experience in year end tax closeout, 1099 distribution, and administrative items involved in the tax process
• Self-starter, Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive team attitude
• Detail oriented, organized, motivated, strong analytical abilities
Preferred Qualifications
• Management of multiple portfolios, with complex accounting
• Knowledge of the various stages of construction, or relatable field, and overall project lifecycle
• Involvement in developing new or improved financial processes, to present to leadership for review
