We are looking to hire a proactive and organised Marketing Executive with pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience to support the Marketing & Market Access Manager, UK & Ireland. This role would suit someone with a strong passion for marketing who is looking to develop their marketing career within a global pharmaceutical company. Previous experience in a UK & Ireland pharmaceutical brand sales or marketing position would be advantageous.

Your Impact:

In this office-based position, the Marketing Executive/Senior Marketing Executive will assist in the development, delivery, implementation, and monitoring of core campaign projects as determined by the MA and Marketing Manager UK and Ireland through the UK and Ireland brand plan for our products.

As the Marketing Executive/Senior Marketing Executive, you will manage the budget for defined projects as determined by the MA and Marketing Manager UK and Ireland particularly around congresses, working with the UK and Ireland business operations and events team to deliver successful events for the business.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the MA and Marketing Manager and cross-functional UK and Ireland country team to support the development and delivery of defined promotional activities to support brand strategies.
  • Involvement in the development of marketing materials, their implementation with the Field Sales team and tracking their effectiveness.
  • Working with the UK and Ireland Team Business Operations Assistant to optimise our brand presence at UK and Ireland ophthalmology congresses and field-based meetings ensuring that these align with our SOP’s and Veeva processes.
  • Working with the International design team to ensure optimal support for the Field Sales Team at field based Alimera educational meetings and sponsored customer meetings in UK and Ireland.
  • To attend as agreed with Manager congresses both in the UK and Europe to be an ambassador with customers, support the field team and international marketing team as required.
  • Work with the Field Sales Team to ensure effective management for all promotional materials and support for defined projects as agreed with the MA and Marketing Manager.

What You Need for Success:

  • Graduate level education preferably in life sciences
  • At least 2 years proven success in a country-specific pharmaceutical brand sales or marketing position.
  • Ability to manage projects across the business functions in a proactive, collaborative and organised manner is essential.
  • Good knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical environment.
  • Ability to operate as Alimera Sciences Limited ambassador with customers, professional bodies etc.
  • Strong analytical skills are important.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal influencing and communication skills are essential.
  • Proven capability of internal and external networking is essential.

Monitoring and Control

  • Monitor progress against designated promotional plans to ensure corrective action can be taken if deviations occur.
  • Adhere with Standard Operating Procedures so that all products spend, materials and activities are fully compliant with the Alimera Sciences Limited policies.
  • Alignment with Above and In-Country Functions

Self-Development

  • Support an above country culture that embraces cross functional best practice at both the functional and geographic interface.
  • In collaboration with the MA and Marketing Manager develop, implement and update a personal development plan to align with yearly performance objectives as part of mid-year and final year reviews.

Customer Facing

  • Carry out at least one customer facing visit bi-monthly in the UK or Ireland to gather feedback from the sales team for discussion with the MA and Marketing Manager to shape future strategy and materials
  • Support the MA and Marketing Manager with key congresses and agree roles and responsibilities and attend as agreed both UK, Ireland and Internationally.

  • Excellent communication skills -good presentation skills and disseminating core product information amongst both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to move projects forward in a supportive and helpful manner
