Global Fueling Systems Inc. is seeking a high-talent Junior Service & Construction Estimator in Long Island, New York.

Global Fueling Systems provides sales, design, repair, and maintenance of oil and gas fluid management systems, and motor vehicle fueling systems.

The Junior Service & Construction Estimator is responsible for supporting the Senior Estimator in reviewing job scopes, preparing estimates in the calculation of material quantity and labor costs requirements, gathering and preparing routine estimating data and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates, and working with services team to execute projects. Junior Service & Construction Estimator’s Job Responsibilities:

• Support of Senior Estimators in the preparation of preliminary budgets, detail estimates, and proposals for projects, including materials price lists, labor costs and parts
• Compile data, review, and submit bid packages/proposals and conceptual estimates for project
• Research prior estimating data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedents for future estimates
• Accurately input numbers and document detail information into computer programs
• Understand and keep current on changes and trends in methods of service/construction and materials, service/construction costs, wage rates, fringes and working rules
• Manage invitations to bid work
• Obtaining, analyzing, and tracking vendor quotes
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, key subcontractors and suppliers
• Communicate and discuss with supervisors, the Senior Estimators, Sales & Service Team, vendors, subcontractors, clients, or other related parties to review estimates and resolve issue
• Attend onsite walk through and participate in job progress meetings in house or on the job site as needed
• Generate cost estimation accuracy, cost efficiency and profitability
• Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills
• Perform additional assignments per the Supervisor’s direction

Junior Service & Construction Estimator’s Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination education/experience
• 2 years minimum experience as an estimator or equivalent work experience
• Strong analytical and mathematics skills
• Good mechanical aptitude, good background on gas station/fueling facility maintenance/repair/installations/project management is a plus
• Must read, write, speak and understand English
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to establish reports, project a professional tone and provide clear concise information
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Strong planning
• Good time management skill
• Good memory skill
• Critical-thinker, problem-solver and attention to detail
• Proficient using computer applications, specifically MS Office
• Self-driven, independent and team-player.
• Strong work ethics
• Respectful of all team members
• Clean Driver’s License
