Job Description

Job Summary: As a Painter in our cabinet factory, you will be responsible for applying paint or other finishes to cabinets and related products. You will ensure that all painted items meet quality standards and specifications. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare surfaces of cabinets for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
Select and mix paint or finishes according to specifications.
Apply paint or finishes to cabinets using spray guns, brushes, or rollers, ensuring even coverage and desired color consistency.
Operate and maintain painting equipment, including cleaning and performing routine maintenance.
Monitor drying times and conditions to ensure proper curing of finishes.
Inspect painted cabinets for defects or imperfections and make necessary touch-ups or adjustments.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment, including the proper handling and disposal of paint and related materials.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Keep accurate records of materials used and work performed.
Assist in other areas of the cabinet production process as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in painting or finishing, preferably in a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
Knowledge of different types of paints, stains, and finishes.
Familiarity with painting equipment and tools, including spray guns and air compressors.
Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Basic math skills for measuring and mixing paint.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and processes.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Capacity to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
Good vision and color perception for accurately matching paint colors and identifying defects.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to paint fumes and dust.
