Job Description

This role is in-house, production design with a strong focus on Pilot Travel Centers store signage support; heavy emphasis on delivering clean production design build outs and maintenance signage in a cyclical work environment. This position also includes production design for store exteriors, interiors and billboards.

  1. Working closely with in-house Creative + Design team, production of all monthly store signage kits requiring direction (ex: Store endcaps, banners, fixture graphics)
  2. Decision-making ability for applying graphics standards across a variety of external guest-facing touchpoints (billboards, menus, shelf signs, new store exteriors)
  3. Ability to coordinate the delivery and organization of vendor-supplied assets; assess for proper file type, resolution and color mode in order to ensure print readiness.
  4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to execute multiple assets; Strong proofreading skills are necessary
  5. Create proofs for client review
  6. Package and pre-flight final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing
  7. Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative and production teams
  8. Proficiency in image retouching, clipping paths photo compositing and image manipulation
  9. Attend monthly store signage planning meetings
  10. Assist in artwork versioning for campaigns and other needs
  11. Ability to read spreadsheets/translate data visually
  12. Maintain file structure and naming in accordance with team standards
  13. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  14. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  15. Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of production experience is preferred.
  • Ability to present portfolio of work.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or work experience equivalency

Specialized Knowledge

  • Intermediate Adobe CC Skill required
  • Intermediate understanding of visual elements (layout, typography) 
  • Competency with OS and Apple products
  • Experience in print design or pre-press/production with knowledge of how to deliver a clean file that will print as expected in accordance with various print vendor requirements.
  • Experience with Adobe Workfront and Agile process a plus
