1052 - Software Engineer

Monte Sano Research Corporation (MSRC) is a Huntsville-based Small Business specializing in providing full-spectrum defense system engineering, research, design, development, integration, test, evaluation, and planning services to the U.S. Government.

MSRC is seeking a full-time Embedded Software Engineer to work with a team of Government and Industry Engineers to develop software for Xilinx-based embedded systems. The selected candidate will perform the following duties:

• Develop C/C++ and Python software for Xilinx SoCs (ZYNQ) with ARM processors and custom FPGA peripherals.
• Develop software for both bare-metal and Linux environments.
• Create basic shell scripts and navigate basic Linux system configurations.
• Perform software testing and verification.
• Decompose system requirements into software requirements.
• Write and present technical documentation as required.

Experience with the following is a plus:

• PetaLinux and/or Yocto Linux build environments.
• U-Boot, Linux device tree, kernel configuration and kernel module development.
• Xilinx Vivado and Vitis environments.
• Verilog Hardware Description Language.

Education / Experience:

• BSEE, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience

Required Skills:

• Candidate must be well versed in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
• Candidate must have prior embedded software experience.
• Candidate must be able to multi-task amongst different projects and communicate with customers on a day-to-day basis.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
