Job Summary

 

Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET) - a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC Company, is seeking a Junior Electrical & Control Systems Designer who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service to our company, clients, and employees.

 

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of four divisions include Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC has offices in multiple states.

The Junior Electrical & Control Systems Designer is responsible for utilizing different CAD software’s in order to produce high quality electrical panel designs that then are passed to our assembly/manufacture team. The ideal candidate in this role would have high levels of accuracy, team mentality, ability to work under strict deadlines, and has great communication with customers and other departments within the company.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant design experience
  • Comfortable in AutoCAD Electrical
  • ePlan experience preferred.
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • Project management experience will be an asset.
  • Process/industry specific knowledge preferred.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Junior Electrical and Control Systems Designer possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:

 

  • Reading, interpreting, and understanding specification documents, control narratives, P&I diagrams, and plan layout diagrams.
  • Understanding project requirements and translating them onto a CAD platform into a complete design package for manufacture and installation.
  • Create and maintain an electronic parts database and design records database.
  • Work with project teams to ensure every project has a smooth transition through development, production, acceptance, and release.
  • Meets regularly with project managers and stakeholders to exchange critical project information.
  • Designs or redesigns complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from Group Leader.
  • Produces CAD drawings for new or improved products using industry, departmental and discipline standards.
  • Reviews design layouts to find and resolve problems involving compatibility with basic design concepts.
  • Works with engineering and manufacturing team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs.
  • Participates in engineering and manufacturing design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Move about the shop in order to grab different materials.
  • Operator different office machinery occasionally.
  • Install small electrical wires with great detail and accuracy.
  • Observe details are close range.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas as so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Move various materials up to 50lbs.
