Job Description

Position Summary:    

SIMCOM is currently seeking a qualified candidate as an Instructor Pilot.   This position will set SIMCOM standards for our Customers receiving ground school and simulator training during Initial, Recurrent or generic training courses. The ideal candidate will focus on Customer progress and performance with a tailor approach to specific training that includes Lesson Planning, classroom and Simulator set-up, upkeep of current publications and training materials. Travel might be required on an occasional basis.

 Duties and responsibilities:

  1. As an Instructor Pilot, provide standardized training in the  aircraft   (unless specifically requires the aircraft or simulator) for the following events:
    • Captain Upgrades
    • SIC Evaluations
    • PIC Evaluations
    • Emergency Procedures Drill Training
    • Differences Training
    • Remedial Training
  2. Enforce company standards by teaching and requiring others to fly by set standards of service and safety.
  3. Strong interpersonal, verbal/written, listening, and presentation skills are necessary to effectively teach required subjects and provide constructive feedback. 
  4. Must possess the skills to properly judge and evaluate pilot performance and willing to accurately and impartially judge and evaluate.
  5. Conduct ground, simulator and flight training for Customers at SIMCOM.
  6. The successful candidate must be able to keep accurate records, complete proper paperwork and submit required documents to the company in a timely manner.
  7. Evaluate Customers progress in gaining skills and knowledge by the standards established at SIMCOM.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the Customers and the Training Center Managers.
  9. If authorized as TCE for SIMCOM, conduct Proficiency Checks and Certification Checks as authorized under FAR 135/142.
  10. Assist/Define possible Customers training requirements through participation in training conferences, meetings.
  11. Maintains competency and qualifications authorized to instruct.
  12. Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.
  13. Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Meet Part 135 requirements.
  • ATP preferred or Commercial with CFII.
  • Successful candidate will hold an above average knowledge of: Applicable Regulations, Flight Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, Crewmember Standard Operating Procedures, Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Performance, and Company Policies and Procedures. 

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write.
  • Must be an excellent listener and presenter in order to meet and exceed the Customer’s expectations during the training process.
  • General knowledge of: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Database: MS Access, preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support cultural diversity.  
  • Customer service oriented.

Physical environment/working conditions:   

Dual environment setting: Office and Simulator. May have some light lifting required up to 30lbs. May require prolonged periods of sitting, standing or walking.
