What you’ll be doing

This position is designed to attract college-level students interested in solid waste, sustainability, or an environmentally focused career with the public sector.

You will be responsible for…

• Assist with marketing and outreach on behalf of the department, which support Solid Waste initiatives.
• Research and development of educational material, social media posts, video clips, and media talking points, and staffing outreach tables at public events.
• Focus on sustainability programs in solid waste such as reduce, reuse, and recycle campaigns.
• May include assisting with marketing other solid waste services, such as solid waste collection services.
• Develop and produce department information using web technology, write and design pages, and maintain content.
• Assist with promotional materials (brochures, newsletters, ads, displays, press releases, email, etc.)
• Support photo and video editing efforts.
• Work public relation events and community activities.
• Develop strategies and criteria for correction actions.
• Conduct public outreach and education activities.
• Performs related duties as required.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or high-level degree program at a junior level or higher OR graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Passion for sustainability initiatives or a closely related field is desired.
• Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver's License by hire date.
