Job Description

POSITION: Product Liability Paralegal (Levels I, II, III)

LOCATION: Washington, DC

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Base salary up to $135K, commensurate with experience, plus bonus and well paid overtime, Medical benefits, generous vacation and sick/personal days, all paid holidays, 401K, and much in a firm noted for an exceptional culture with a history of career growth, stability and security.

ORGANIZATION: Top-Ranked Law Firm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle all tasks associated with document production and distribution for attorneys
  • Manage all phases of the litigation and trial preparation
  • Electronically file legal documents in federal and state courts using PACER CM/ECF, Odyssey and other systems
  • Conduct factual and legal research
  • Contact Clients and opposing firms regarding examinations under oath and court calendar matters
  • Acts as court liaison between judges, court administration, attorneys, and public
  • Assist in trial preparation, including organizing and preparing trial exhibits, trial notebooks, and binders
  • Organize client correspondence, prepare mailings and handle high call volume
  • Perform daily file maintenance responsibilities
  • Proofread, revise and finalize legal documents
  • Accurately enter client data into a company based software program
  • Assist attorneys with client depositions
  • Organize and maintains case files

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2+ years Paralegal experience with Mass Torts or Product Liability
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Paralegal Certification is a huge plus
  • Law firm experience highly preferred but open to corporate legal department or government office
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent Proofreading Skills
  • Knowledge of Standard Office Methods and Equipment
  • Able to Maintain Strict Confidentiality
  • Able to Manage Time and Tasks Effectively
  • Solid Interpersonal and communications Skills
  • Use of Electronic filing system
