Logistics Broker Agent

We are growing and looking for a Logistics Broker Agent to join our team in Naperville, IL.

Act as liaison between shippers and carriers. Find a truckload carrier in a specified region or lane, and negotiate rates and delivery terms based upon the requirements of the shipment. Consolidate freight into multiple stops using JBS cross-dock facilities.

Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Alternate Saturday monthly

Compensation: $46,414.90 - $63,154.70 depending on experience

What does the job look like daily?

• Source and qualify carriers for a specific region or lane
• Negotiate rates and delivery terms based upon shipment requirements
• Develop relationships and solicit trucking companies
• Verify carrier documents
• High level communication with dispatch and carrier reps
• Enter accurate information into the computer on a timely basis so that bill is released ASAP to assist sales reps.
• Use quoting and truck finding tools, DAT, PC Mile, and Truckstop to find carriers.

Knowledge and Skills to be successful:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years of transportation and Freight Broker experience is required
• Some knowledge of DOT regulation
• General knowledge of loading/unloading of trailers
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Computer software skills with proficiency in Windows based software
• Experience using DAT, PC Mile and Truck stop, preferred
