Job Description

Title: Director of Global Procurement

Location: Medina, OH

 

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the Director of Global Procurement role sits at the core of our global procurement and supply chain teams, factory based indirect spend, supplier quality, trade compliance and logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the supply chain performance of a business unit as it relates to cost management, supplier performance, new product development, and critical supply chain projects. Additionally, this role will collaborate with category procurement and materials planning teams to design the most optimal supply chain strategy. Further, this role will play a vital role in developing and implementing procurement and supply chain best practices across the enterprise.

A candidate for this position must be a creative problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment and uses change management to guide and coach others to execute with speed and purpose.

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Supply Chain leader for the business unit.

• Drives cross functional collaboration with finance, BU, operations, Sales and Engineering to develop competitive cost structure and drive new product development initiatives.

• Responsible for developing and managing a team of procurement and supplier quality professionals.

• Responsible for leading select direct and indirect categories at a regional and global level.

• Responsible for cost reduction projects; manages cost reduction projects to achieve annual cost reduction objectives. Tracks PPV to ensure performance is consistent with annual budget plans.

• Fosters an environment that encourages data analytics; leverages business systems to advance data analytics capabilities for best-in-class category management practices.

• Responsible for driving and managing key supply chain agenda: cost reduction, supplier performance, new product development, VA/VE and other supply chain optimization initiatives.

• Manages supplier performance; engages cross-functional business partners to drive supplier performance improvement initiatives.

• Leads and supports net working capital improvement initiatives.

• Leads the development of supply chain annual budgets and key initiatives. Prioritizes action plans based on business needs.

• Develops and implements cost management best practices that includes cost driver visibility, commodity specific cost models etc.

• Establishes governance and controls best practices as to supplier selection processes, cost change approvals, supplier performance management and on-going category risk assessment.

• Provides expertise and guidance specific to contract review, contract administration and various compliance programs.

• Reviews supplier standard terms and conditions and makes improvements as needed. Leads, reviews, and approves global supply and or service contract agreements.

• Positively influences key stakeholders to get alignment on strategy and execution plans.

• Leverages global sourcing and supply chain experiences and expertise to drive new product development initiatives.

• Understand plant operations and provides critical supply solutions as needed.

• Develops and implements annual cost reduction initiatives.

• Drives supplier consolidation to reduce supply chain complexity.

• Focuses on the on-going professional and skill development of the team.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 15-Years of procurement and supply chain management leadership experiences in the industrial/manufacturing sectors.

• Accomplished leader with experiences in developing and leading procurement teams in a global operating setting.

• Must have several years of category procurement experience, ideally across both direct and indirect spend. Hands-on experience in NPD sourcing a significant asset.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing cost reduction strategies and driving net working capital improvements.

• Hands-on experience in creating annual procurement budgets, standard cost setting and PPV performance management.

• Deep expertise in developing and implementing best practices specific to cost management, supplier management, risk mitigation, contract management, governance structure and procurement terms and conditions.

• Demonstrated experience of working in a KPI driven procurement organization with strong focus on supplier performance improvements and risk mitigation.

• Demonstrated experience in leading VA/VE projects and conducting make vs buy analysis.

• Prior experience in spend categorization and spend cube creation.

• Outstanding data analytics capabilities.

• A proven change agent.

• Solid understanding of industry related and professional development programs such as APICS/CPIM. Prior experiences in designing and developing professional development programs desirable.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems in an industrial manufacturing environment with sound knowledge of system based spend categorization, system generated procurement specific reports.

 

Travel Requirements:

· Ability to travel 10-20% of the time.

Licenses/Certificates:

· Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Preferred.
