Construction Equipment Mechanic
- $20 to $24 Hourly
- Full-Time
Purpose: This position requires the level of knowledge, skills and tools necessary to diagnose and repair ALL makes of Medium & Heavy Trucks. Some duties include remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components, including engine component, fuel systems and the like. Other responsibilities of the position also include ensuring work orders are completed properly, selecting appropriate course of action for repairs, performing road calls and emergency services as dictated by customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems for machinery and equipment.
- Inspect and repair forklifts, tractors and trailers.
- Perform all required maintenance inspections and safety checks as required.
- Help service customers with their equipment.
- Troubleshoot and submit repair bids to Service Manager.
- Perform required Preventive Maintenance (oil change, lube, filter changes, etc.).
- Submit all paperwork to Service Manager on a timely basis.
- Effectively and consistently communicates with Service Manager.
- Assist in the training process of new employees.
- The employee will be responsible for any other tasks and duties that may be assigned from time-to-time by the Service Manager.
Technical/Mechanical Skills:
• Ability to read and understand Schematics
• Computer assisted troubleshooting experience
• Basic General computer skills
· Basic mechanical and electrical working knowledge
· Must understand mechanics of fabricating equipment
· Basic, general computer skills
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of hands-on construction rental/equipment maintenance.
- Requires basic mechanical and electrical working knowledge.
- Must have the ability and capability to start and operate equipment.
- Must understand mechanics of fabricating equipment.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds, full use of arms to hands to use tools, must be able to climb up and off equipment and be able to see close as well as distant.
- Requires a valid and current driver’s license.
