Job Description

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting agencies’ requirements to ensure the continuum of services necessary for each resident in the Program. Assists the Program Director in the administration of residential mental health services within the authority of Executive Management. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the provision of services, assisting with the oversight of administrative processes, and clinical supervision of staff in an OMH Article 31 clinic setting. This clinic provides assistance for people who are facing a wide range of emotional and social problems. Services for adults and children include evaluation and assessment, medication management, crisis intervention, time-effective and ongoing therapy, and more. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other Mental health professionals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with oversight of the day-to-day clinical operation of the clinic, including intake assessment, service planning, clinical interventions, and discharge planning
  • Provide direct individual & group clinical supervision to clinic staff
  • Provide relevant training's to staff (e.g., co-occurring disorders, motivational interviewing)
  • Model and coach staff in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally competent care
  • Ensure provision of evidence-based practices for youth and adults with behavioral health needs who have been involved in the criminal justice system
  • Promote the integration of risk-need-responsivity & risk assessment/ management practices into clinical operations
  • Conduct Quality Assurance documented chart review and audit ensuring compliance with OMH and ICL standards
  • Assist with review and maintenance of high risk lists; participate in the clinic Incident Review Committee (IRC); function as on-site point person for crisis or high risk clinical situations; manage 24/7 crisis phone service
  • Train new staff on the use of the electronic health record as it relates to standardized clinical workflows and billing
  • Work with administrative, medical leadership, quality assurance, information services, facilities, and fiscal staff to meet clinical supervision goals
  • Participate in the Interviewing and selection of clinic therapists
  • Provide direct services and crisis management to a limited caseload.
  • Other clinical and administrative duties, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work under

  • Ability to support clinic mission, vision and values, standards and the code of ethical behavior
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with auditors, regulatory bodies, clients, staff, colleagues, public, other agencies and their staff and third party insurance personnel.
  • Ability to work with clients, families, and staff in a caring and respectful manner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differences.
  • Ability to develop, evaluate, implement and modify a treatment plan, meeting all deadlines and productivity standards
  • Ability to prepare accurate and timely documentation, reports and other written material as assigned using computers and computer software assigned (e.g., IMA, Word, Anasazi, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and adhere to internal and external laws, rules, and policies
  • Ability to secure the cooperation of and work effectively with others
  • Ability to work independently, and to conform to all applicable safety and accountability measures

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • LCSW required
  • New York State Licensed Social Worker required
  • New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Psychologist valid registration required
  • Minimum of one year of clinical supervision experience required
  • Knowledge of Part 599 regulations for NYS OMH licensed Article 31 clinics preferred
