Education Specialist (24/25 School Year)

Aurum Preparatory Academy seeks a passionate and dedicated Education Specialist to join our team. The Education Specialist will work closely with students, teachers, and families to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a commitment to creating inclusive learning environments that foster student success.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff.

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in various settings, including individual, small group, and inclusive classroom environments.

• Adapt and modify curriculum and learning materials to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, including assessment data, progress reports, and IEP documentation.

• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure the inclusion of students with special needs in mainstream classrooms.

• Communicate regularly with parents and families to provide updates on student progress, discuss concerns, and offer support and resources.

• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Serve as a member of the school's Student Success Team and contribute to developing and implementing school-wide initiatives that promote inclusive education.
