Job Description

Axium Solar has a growing portfolio of solar PV installations across the southwestern US with many that are aging and beginning to require repairs. Axium also has a portfolio of service contracts with scheduled maintenance to help keep these systems operating in top shape. There is also untapped opportunity to develop new business by reaching out to the owners of systems where no exiting relationship exists.

The Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing each of these customer types. As such, this position requires strong customer facing skills with demonstrated ability to negotiate and achieve win-win scenarios for the customer and the company. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and insist on quick and regular follow-up to keep customers informed and manage their expectations. This person should also be able to work with financial data, be able to interpret P&L statements and adjust accordingly. Finally, this person must have a strong background with commercial solar technology and be able to explain technical concepts and ideas in a way that is understandable to customers.

 DETAIL:

 ·       Inbound Service Calls – The Service Manager will develop and manage a system for processing incoming calls for new service. This system should effectively prioritize and deploy the appropriate resources depending on the nature of the issue(s) at hand with an eye to quick and effective resolution.

·       AR Management – The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring that correct and sufficiently detailed invoices are delivered to the customer and will ensure regular follow up to reduce the amount of days from invoice to receipt of payment.

·       Field Reporting – The Service Manager will develop and oversee a system for receiving information from the field so that communication with customers is effective and invoicing is correct.

·       P&L Responsibility – The Service Manager will monitor monthly P&L and suggest ways to optimize and improve profitability including evaluating software platforms, addition of needed personnel or equipment, as well as adjustments to service rates, or other measures as needed.

·       Team Management – The Service Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing a team of internal resources and will delegate responsibility and manage results including those related to scheduling, reporting, and customer follow-up.

·       Customer Retention The Service Manager will make decisions with an eye to long term retention of customers and will be responsible for keeping Axium Solar’s NPS and customer equity at the highest levels. The Service Manager should also advise and report to the sales and executive teams regarding any upcoming opportunities for new projects and may oversee the development of future strategies and avenues for capture of additional revenue.

·       Business Development the Service Manager will be responsible for prospecting and qualifying new opportunities including responding to inbound inquiries from new customers, evaluating and responding to RFPs for service contracts, as well as making outbound calls and developing new relationships with owners of large/utility scale solar farms.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       College degree or equivalent experience in construction related project management/Operations management roles.

·       Strong experience with commercial solar PV technology and a working knowledge of current PV system components and best design practices.

·       Strong understanding of energy concepts including the difference between power and energy as well as an understanding of how a PV system works and provides benefit to an owner.

·       Working knowledge of communications technology and data acquisition systems

·       Ability to keep regular office hours. This is not a remote work position.

·        Ability to travel on a limited basis

·       Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex tasks.

·       Ability to negotiate and create win-win scenarios

·       Diplomatic, non-confrontational approach to problem solving

·       Financial literacy. Strong facility with financial concepts involving revenue, cost, gross margin, and ROI

·       Ability to work with spreadsheets and prepare reporting tools/methodology
