Job Summary:
We are looking for individuals who are interested in making a positive impact in children's lives through teaching various Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs. STEM activities include: robotics, coding, gaming (Minecraft), science and more!
The STEM Program Manager position is an administrative management position responsible for enrichment programs and camps throughout the year. This includes creating/designing curriculum, planning programs, preparing marketing materials, teaching programs, managing on-site programs daily and communicating with parents, school staff, Baroody Camps Instructors & and Management.
Baroody Camps, Inc. provides before- and after-school enrichment programs and summer camps to school children in various counties throughout the DMV area. We provide opportunities to manage and teach programs. We are looking for individuals who are interested in managing and teaching elementary school children before- or after-school in science/STEM.
This role is between $20-$25 / hour with Instructor duties starting at $30/hour
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Remote working and on-site at schools, rec centers, or in our office
- Creating, designing, & teaching programs/curriculum for elementary school aged children
- Assisting in the planning and scheduling of classes and programs
- Preparing content for marketing materials for programs and providing content to marketing team (flyers, pictures, catalogs, & email updates)
- Assisting with monitoring registration for schools
- Inventory and maintenance of program equipment and supplies
- Training new hires on STEM equipment, processes, and updated procedures
- Preparing and facilitating equipment and supplies for instructors
- Communicating with parents, school staff, instructors and Baroody Camps staff.
- Marketing and outreach to other markets to expand business
Expectations:
- 35-40 hours in a work week
- Typical schedule is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week; 6 hours in the office, 2 hours as a Program Instructor per program (see separate job description)
- Complete tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner
- Communicate directly with Assistant Director of Programs
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience in the STEM field with experience in Lego Robotics, Minecraft systems, Scratch Coding and other computer programming.
- Must have experience working with children.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be 21 years or older with a college degree.
- Attention to detail and high level of organization
- Strong listening abilities and sense of urgency with tasks and communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different situations
- Works well under pressure
- Proficient in Google Suites
- Computer skills required
- Must have reliable transportation
Training:
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, provided.
- Medication Administration Training (MAT), provided.
- In office training / On the job training
