Job Description
Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber & plywood as well as related specialty products. We currently have sixteen locations providing distribution in the eastern US as well as the Caribbean markets. Our primary customers turn our products into something special.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises personnel engaged in the design and/or drafting of detailed drawings for assigned area or responsibility.
- Interprets job requests to employees and assigns duties.
- Determines and directs material to be used, and other information necessary to make detailed drawing and/or design clear and complete.
- Provide direct technical support to retail lumber dealers, salespeople, and contractors from start to finish, i.e., purchasing, sales, quoting and design work.
Required Experience:
- Candidate must be able to read blueprints, design EWP applications and produce take-offs with quotations.
- The ability to operate CAD will be considered an advantage.
- Working knowledge of structural engineering principles is required based on formal training or practical experience.
