Job Description

Position Purpose:

Provide support to the Engineering and Environmental teams in drafting, maintaining, and updating plant drawings and databases as they pertain to chemical processes and regulatory monitoring requirements. Also serves as a monitoring technician for the equipment Leak Detection & Repair (LDAR) team when needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft, maintain, and update Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) as new and existing processes are designed/modified by engineering team
  • Document and draft as-built process equipment, to include all environmental monitoring identifications
  • Collaborate with process engineers and LDAR technicians to ensure all process setup changes are documented accurately
  • Analyze drawings for field accuracy and make corrections as needed
  • Support for Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Perform LDAR Monitoring as Required (this is process dependent), including EPA Method 21 and Method 22

Qualifications:


Required

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. AutoCAD certification OR demonstrated strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to produce or modify existing production process drawings and plans
  3. Ability to walk down field systems with minimal guidance, interpret field direction
  4. Knowledge of safety requirements in plant operations environment is required.
  5. Strong communication skills with all levels of personnel
  6. Able to work from ladders and lifts to reach high locations
  7. Able to work rotating weekends on an on-call basis
  8. Ability to set goals, establish priorities, and work effectively without continuous direct supervision.
  9. Above average organizational skills are required to maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation, databases, and Auto CAD records.

Preferred

  1. Experience with design activities in chemical plant manufacturing environment
  2. Familiar with Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) EPA monitoring requirements
  3. Knowledge of electrical code, distributive control systems, industry building standards and ISO drafting techniques
  4. Experience with utilizing monitoring equipment, such as Toxic Vapor Analyzer

Work Environment:


50% Field work in Chemical Plant

  1. Climbing stairs, ladders
  2. Working from heights
  3. Infrequent need for monitoring in confined or tight spaces

50% Office work

  1. Computers and drawings
