Job Description:

As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in sheet metal fabrication, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality sheet metal components and assemblies. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop sheet metal components and assemblies according to project specifications and requirements. Utilize CAD software, SolidWorks model to create detailed engineering drawings.
2. Material Selection and Procurement:
Evaluate material properties and select appropriate sheet metal materials based on mechanical, thermal, and aesthetic requirements. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of materials.
3. Manufacturing Process Optimization: Optimize manufacturing processes for sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, forming, welding, and finishing operations. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement.
4. Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and structural integrity of sheet metal components. Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
5. Tooling and Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with maintenance teams to maintain and troubleshoot sheet metal fabrication equipment, including CNC machines, press brakes, laser cutters, and welding systems. Recommend upgrades or replacements as needed to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
6. Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and budget constraints. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide project updates and address any concerns or challenges that may arise.
7. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols governing sheet metal fabrication operations. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices among team members.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field., Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software solution for 2D and 3D modeling, for sheet metal fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal materials, manufacturing processes, and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
