Job description

Venture Dynamics is in need of Sheet Metal Mechanics to plan, layout,fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal parts for the repair andmodernization of US Navy vessels.
Utilize equipment including handtools, power tools, machines and equipment.
Sets up and operates fabricatingmachines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls and routers to cut,bend, lock and form, or straighten materials.
Trims, files, grinds, debars, buffsand smooth's surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.
Sheet Metal Mechanics welds, solders,bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assembleproducts, using hand tools, power tools and equipment.
Inspects assemblies and installationfor conformance to specification.
May install furniture such asair-conditioning and heating, ventilation ducting, cabinets, shelves and otherequipment on board ships.
Sheet Metal Mechanics must thefollowing requirements/skills:
Sheet Metal Mechanics must have aMinimum (4) years experience
Must understand the layout of the shipand compartment identification
Basic reading, writing and math skillsrequired
Sheet Metal Mechanics must be capableof using hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Must be able to read and interpretblueprints and military specifications
Must be able to pass a written SheetMetal Exam if required.
Candidates may be required to travelto different sites or Naval Bases
Must be flexible to working all shifts
Must have own transportation
Must be a US Citizen
Must pass drug test and backgroundscreening and be eligible to obtain a DBIDS Badge
