Job description

The Sheet Metal Apprentice will be trained to operate power operated sheet metal brakes and shears, organize inventory to maintain efficiency, and the fabrication of sheet metal systems. Must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be able to multi-task.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Receive, process, and organize sheet metal materials
  • Maintain an organized and neat workspace to prioritize efficiency and safety
  • Accurately measure and cut metal to project specification
  • Utilize smart tablet for fabrication instructions
  • Operate and provide routine maintenance on forklift, electric lift, and hand trucks
  • Follow company quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Familiarity with sheet metal installation and equipment preferred
  • Must pass a background check, motor vehicle, and drug test
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Willingness to take on special projects as assigned
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
